今年賽事在世界杯24小時賽後一個多月舉行，本來擔心選手恢復不過來，不過我們東吳超馬名人堂入選者世界杯冠軍關家良一在世界杯前就表示，他在世界杯中只想獲得好名次，但是在東吳的賽事中他將全力以赴。果然他在韓國舉行的世界杯中第三度奪冠，12月13日再度來台參加本年度賽事，勇敢地以256.862公里奪下東吳超馬賽的第五座冠軍。

"My goal in world cup is only to get a good ranking, while every time I participate Soochow 24h race, I run with all my energy." said Mr. Sekiya before he entered the world cup race. He then got his third world champion title and the 5th champion title in Soochow race in 6 weeks later.

我們今年開始把賽事定調成慈善賽事，藉由比賽募款，再集合所有的捐款捐給需要幫助的人。今年八月我們24小時賽紀錄保持者邱淑容女士在參加穿越法國18天賽後因噬肉菌感染而截肢，為幫忙與鼓勵她重新站起來，我們徵求善心人士認養選手，選手跑得越多，愛心捐款越多，最後總共有36個個人及企業單位認捐，包括參賽的日本隊及國內選手均在捐款者之列，共募得約45萬元在閉幕式中由淑容的女兒代表接受。

十月份新上任之黃鎮台校長全程參與各項活動，近距離體會東吳國際超馬的精神，並給予校方最大的支持。大會總幹事黃奕仁主任引進公關業界專業人士擔任顧問，指導由社團表現優異的同學組成之團隊，宣傳並尋求業界贊助，獲得許多企業不同形式的贊助。對公關贊助有興趣的同學得以有實習的機會，他們透過廣播宣傳、在校發起寫鼓勵的話給邱媽媽、行動劇等方式宣傳賽事，獲得良好的迴響。

We decide to call the tone of race as a charity race. We recruit 36 persons who are willing to give his pledge to a runner. The more laps the participants run, the higher amount of donation. We accumulated 450,000 NT dollars and donated it to Miss. Qui Shu-chun who is current national 24h record holder and was amputated because of Necrotizing Fasciitis while she finished Transe Gaule 2008 18days race.

比賽結果方面日本新人出頭，29歲的井上真悟先生以241公里獲亞軍，第一次來台參賽的桑原章惠獲女子組冠軍，台灣選手則是老將再創高峰，每次都不缺席的吳勝銘首度跑出227公里的佳績，而黃衍齡則以穩健的配速跑出203公里，是國內女子超越200公里門檻的第二人。

As the race results, 29 years old Japanese runner Mr. Shingo Inoue got the runners-up for his 24h depute. Miss. Akie Kuwahara's 220K brings her the first 24h title. While the Taiwan veteran runners renew their best records, Mr. Wu shan-ming refresh his record by 227K and Miss. Huang Yan-ling broke the 200K barrier, her 203K result is the second best.
